How to Fix Printer Pcl XL Error

A PCL XL error can occur while printing a document on a computer that utilizes the Microsoft Windows 7, Vista or XP operating systems. This error usually occurs because the document that you are trying to print contains large images that the printer is not able to accommodate in the memory, perhaps due to a mismatched printer setting. It can also occur if you are using an unsupported or embedded font in the document. Regardless of the reason for the error, it can be corrected through a short process.

  1. Click the Windows logo or the “Start” button in the lower left corner of the desktop. Select “Control Panel.”

  2. Double-click “Devices and Printers” on the Control Panel window that opens in Windows 7/Vista. Double-click “Printers and Faxes” in Windows XP.

  3. Right-click the printer icon, then click “Printing Preferences.”

  4. Click the “Advanced” tab on the “Printing Preferences” dialog box.

  5. Click the “+” sign next to “Document Options” to expand it.

  6. Click the “+” sign next to “Printer Features.”

  7. Click the “Print Data Optimization” drop-down box and select “Optimize for Text and Vector.”

  8. Click “Apply,” then choose “OK.” and you are done…. try printing now!!! BOL
