The number must be between 1 and 31

Every time I try to print a single envelope, the message “the number must be between 1 and 31” pops up.

Although I’m sure there must be an easier solution, several online sources suggest that recreating the user profile solves the problem. But in my case it doesn’t help and finally able to resolve this by removing given Reg Key. Hopefully it’ll help some one.

To delete the Word Data registry key, follow these steps:

  1. Exit all Office programs.
  2. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
  3. Locate the following registry subkey, as appropriate for the version of Word that you are running:
    • Word 2002:

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft \Office\10.0\Word\Data

    • Word 2003:

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Office\11.0\Word\Data

    • Word 2007:

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\ Office\12.0\Word\Data

    • Word 2010:

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Word\Data

  4. Click Data,
  5. Click Delete on the Edit menu, and then click Yes.
  6. Exit Registry Editor.
  7. Start Word.

Enjoy!!!!

Been printing envelopes for years from Word then just, this morning, experienced this same problem. This solution worked fine unable to verify version of MS Word installed so picked on the last entry under Office in the registry 16 I think.
